Cecil is the Executive Director at Simeka where he fulfills the role of the Group Chief Financial Officer for the Simeka Group of Companies; he has worked in various managerial roles at some of the leading organisations in both the private sector and the public sector.
Cecil started his career at Arthur Andersen where he completed his accounting articles, and thereafter went on to join (SAB Beer Division), now SAB Miller as a
management trainee, where he was involved in various projects that were geared at improving operational efficiency at a manufacturing plant. Thereafter he joined Standard Bank head office, where he worked on a number of internal projects, including a project where he was part of a team that designed and implemented an Activity Based Costing tool for all the retail banking products of the bank.
Cecil also has extensive experience in the public sector having worked as a public servant in the Gauteng Provincial Government Treasury. He was instrumental in setting up the reporting systems, including piloting the multi-year budgeting approach for government, which was eventually adopted as the preferred budgeting approach for both National and Provincial Government. During his time at the Provincial Treasury, he was involved in various transformation initiatives including the conceptualization, design and implementation of the Gauteng Share Service Centre (He is one of the few local experts on Shared Services in Government). Cecil has also spent some time at Transnet as Group GM Strategy as well as worked for Accenture focusing on public sector consulting, where he was involved in ground-breaking projects both in South Africa and Australia..
